Carlos Perrote

Carlos Perrote originally from Cuba and has been living in Belize for over ten years. c perrote He is an accomplished music, arranger and composer and has been working with music for over thirty years.He has also played with Andy Palacio and the Garifuna Collective, Frankie Reneau Concerts and also Lord Rhaburn Awards show just to name a few.
Presently he is the musical director for the Grace Primary School and the Holy Redeemer Marching Band. He has also worked as a music teacher for the National Institute of Culture and History.
 Cugazz (Cuban Garifuna & jazz) Cuban-Belizean composer Carlos Perrote introduced his new album "Omolewa Osain" with a live concert: Carlos Perrote and friends at the Bliss Center for the Performing on December 18, 2009. "Omolewa Osain" is a Yoruba phrase meaning "Powerful Mind" The Yoruba are a West African tribe from the region between the Niger and Dahomey Rivers. The music is truly Caribbean, with influences from the Caribs of the carlos perrote Eastern Caribbean, the ancestral roots of today's Garifuna, the West African roots of Cuban music and the American influence of jazz and results in a symphony of sound that thrills the body and the ear. Perrote includes steel pan and jazz improvisations in his "Homage to Andy", with a rearrangement of three of Andy Palacio's songs from the Watina album "Weyu Larigu Weyu", "Miami" and "Ayo da". He also harks back to his `Cuban roots with "Almendra" and invites the listener to get up and dance with "Del Tambor a la Conga".
