Leela Vernon

Lila Vernon, The Queen of Brukdown is a Belizean woman of creole decent now resides in the southern district of Punta Gorda. Leela loves singing and performing, in 1987 she formed the Ibolite Dance group as an avenue to express her individual talent and a vehicle to express and preserve her culture. Lila has been at the vanguard to help revive the Belize Kiol Buru Brukdown, Sambai and Sandunga dances showcasing her original lyrics, poem songs and dramatic sketches. Since then she now has four albums: Balahu, Da Wah Family Ting means (Its a family Thing), Diverse Kulcha(Culture), and(Creole)Kriol Culture.
