Kernelle Nykonie Parks also known as Nello Player was born on March 1, 1979 in Belize City. His love for music goes all the way back to his childhood as his parent’s were passionate music lovers. As he grew older he developed his own unique style finding inspiration in the music of various reggae artists like the legendary Bob Marley, Black Uhuru, Shabba Ranks,Stone Love just to name a few. Nello states, “Whenever I start writing a song I think about music like Bob Marley. Songs that will live on and stand the test of time.” He recorded his first song back in 2005 since then he has three albums: Collective Insight, Nello Player and Best of Nello Player. There is also another side to Kernelle Parks; he is indeed a true artist. Not only does he write, sing and perform his own music but he is a skilled athlete and has excelled in basketball, softball and soccer throughout his school days. He has played in numerous local and national teams. Finally, Nello has a natural skill as an oil and acrylic painter. His love for the arts includes traditional paintings in oil, acrylics and water paints and with his artistic skill has since ventured into digital graphic and art.
