Sam Hamilton
Sam Hamilton was born in Belize and later migrated to his mother's place of birth, the island of Jamaica. He returned to Belize and enrolled into school where he participated in the school and church choirs. He realized his talent and later joined the band "Johnny and the playmates". Sam then moved on to play with many of Belize's top bands such as Glenn Bood and the Lord Rhaburn Combo. He began travelling and later recorded his first album in Guatemala City entitled “Take Off†with his rendition of the song "California Maiden". He later released his sophomore album entitled “Bird’s Isle†with an original song of the same name written by Govenor General, Colville Young Sr. who is our present Governor General. Sam is a highly versatile musician, his music encompasses various genres of music such as calypso, bruckdown, ballads, dancehall reggae, country and r&b. Sam also sings Lation selections all with a twist of Belizean flavor. Sam is now the head of his own band called the Foreign Exchange band which has been performing for about 13 years. The band consistgs of famous Belizean artists such as Zoila Clark, Sam Carcamo and many others. They perform live at the Fort Street Tourism Village in Belize City.
