Black Fruit Cake
Ingredients:
1- lbs butter or margarine 2- lbs sugar 6 Eggs 2 lbs flour 4 tsp. baking powder 12 0unce stout or rum 8 ounce corn syrup Nutmeg and vanilla (optional) 4-8 ounce black coloring 1 lb mix fruit which includes cherry, raisin, prunes, pecan (Stew fruits in corn syrup a day before)
Instructions:
Creme butter and sugar . Add eggs one at a time while beating, add flour and baking powder. Beat in liquid ingredients black coloring, stout or rum. Flour and fold in fruits Greased and flour two 10 inch baking pan, pour in cake mixture. set oven to 250 to 300 degrees, set a pan of water under the cake rack, bake for 2 to 3 hours test with a tooth pick.(insert in the middle of cake went comes out clean the cake is finished)
