Fried Okra
Ingredients:
1 doz. Okras 1 Egg beaten 1 tsp black pepper 1 tsp salt 1 ¼ cups of cornmeal Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
First, wash and dry Okras. Remove stems and soak in egg for about 10 minutes. In a medium size bowl, combine black pepper, salt and cornmeal. Roll in cornmeal twice to evenly coat the okras. Allow to stand for a few minutes so that coating will adhere. Place okra carefully in large fry pan over medium-high heat. Turn continuously and reduce heat when okras start to brown. Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve hot Serve with rice and meat dishes or with a dip. “Different but absolutely deliciousâ€.
